MEET THE TIME RIBBON

Play a moment.
Make it an encore.

A perfect jump. A funny tumble. A melody you made yourself. A dance in your favorite outfit. The Time Ribbon quietly remembers your world, so you can return to the moments you love.

  1. 01

    Play, just as you like.

Your last two minutes are remembered automatically. A clear clock starts at zero for each land visit and counts only active play, or your chosen moment while looping. There’s no record button to think about.

  2. 02

    Tap Again. See it differently.

Loop the last eight seconds, or move the handles to choose your own moment. Watch from above, close up or your original view — with your instrument notes included.

  3. 03

    Keep it. Come back whenever.

Save up to eight favorites in this browser. Return to play with your world just where you left it.

ABOUT LOOPTOWN · THE THINKING BEHIND THE PLAY

Designed with care.
Informed by autism guidance.

LoopTown began with a simple idea: a little world where the player chooses where to go, what to try and which moments to repeat.

Autistic people have different sensory experiences, interests and communication preferences. There is no single setting that fits everyone. LoopTown applies the principles below as game design choices, with room for each player to decide what feels right.

Individual sensory needs

NICE guidance recommends considering individual sensitivities to lighting, noise and color when adapting environments for autistic children and young people.

In our game: adjustable light, color, sound and motion; fewer prompts competing for attention.

Predictability & familiar moments

The National Autistic Society explains that order, routine and repetition can be valuable to autistic people, while preferences vary.

In our game: familiar controls, repeatable activities and a Time Ribbon that lets the player revisit a moment by choice.

Difference & individual choice

Autistica describes autism as a different way of experiencing the world and emphasizes learning from autistic people’s experiences.

In our game: open exploration, optional conversations, written choices and permission to enjoy an activity your own way.

A clear distinction. These sources inform our design; they have not evaluated or endorsed LoopTown. LoopTown is a game, not a clinical intervention. It has not been clinically tested and makes no claims to treat autism or produce therapeutic outcomes. A trusted adult can help a player find settings they enjoy.

COME AS YOU ARE

A phone. A tablet.
A little spare time.

Open the game in a browser with 3D graphics support. There’s nothing to install. Touch controls are available on iPad and mobile, with keyboard and mouse controls on a computer.

On a touchscreen

Tap the ground to walk, or hold the arrow buttons. Tap to jump. Drag to turn the camera; pinch to zoom. A nearby action button lets you talk, feed, ride, pick up an instrument, break or repair. Tap the colored keys to play notes.

At a computer

WASD or arrow keys to move. Space to jump. E to interact. R for Again. Drag to look around, and scroll or use + and − to zoom. When holding an instrument, use 1–8 to play notes.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you wander.

Is LoopTown only for autistic players?

Everyone is welcome. The adjustable sensory settings and unhurried exploration were designed with autistic players in mind, and anyone can choose the settings and activities they enjoy.

Is there anything to buy or unlock?

No. All fourteen lands and their activities are available. There are no in-game purchases, advertisements, accounts or progression gates.

Where are our moments saved?

Your world, settings and up to eight favorite moments are saved in this browser on this device. They do not sync between devices or websites. Clearing browser data can remove them. The Time Ribbon records game state, not video of you.

Can other people talk to my child?

LoopTown is a single-player game. All roaming characters use scripted conversations. There is no multiplayer chat, microphone or camera access. The game includes no advertising or analytics scripts. The hosting provider may keep ordinary web request logs.

What if the game feels too busy?

Open the gear button to lower color, brightness or speed, or turn off background movement. Sound starts off. Use Take a pause at any time. Phones and tablets can play in either orientation; landscape gives the world more room.

Does the game keep running when we leave?

No. Your world pauses when you switch away or stop interacting for two minutes. Motion, sound and 3D rendering stop. When you return, choose Keep exploring. Your world waits exactly where you left it.

Does it work offline or on every device?

An internet connection is needed to load the game. It needs a current browser with WebGL 2 graphics support. Performance depends on your device. If it cannot open, try an updated browser or a device that supports 3D graphics.
